Density function
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004922
A mathematical function that describes the relative likelihood for a random variable to take on a given value, or within a given range, in a continuous probability distribution. In atmospheric science, it can be used to characterize the distribution of meteorological parameters such as temperature, wind speed, or pollutant concentrations. The integral of a probability density function over its entire domain is equal to one.
