Bistatic
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003932
Describing a remote sensing configuration where the transmitter and receiver are situated at separate, distinct locations. In this arrangement, the signal is transmitted from one point, interacts with the target (such as the atmosphere or a surface), and the scattered energy is detected at another point. This geometry contrasts with a monostatic system, where the transmitter and receiver are collocated.
