The direct transmission of meteorological data and information between two specific, predetermined locations. This communication method establishes a dedicated link, such as a microwave relay or fiber optic cable, connecting a single transmitter to a single receiver. It contrasts with broadcast communication and is applied for secure, high-volume data transfers between national weather centers or from remote sensing instruments to a data processing facility.
