Serial communications

A method of data transmission where bits of information are sent sequentially over a single communication channel. This contrasts with parallel communication, where multiple bits are sent simultaneously over separate channels. Serial communication is widely used in meteorological instruments and data acquisition systems due to its simplicity and efficiency over long distances.
