Asynchronous communication

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003658

A method of data transmission where data blocks are sent independently without a shared clock signal, relying on start and stop bits to synchronize the sender and receiver. This approach allows for flexible timing between data packets, making it suitable for meteorological data collection from remote sensors or satellite systems. It contrasts with synchronous communication, which requires precise timing between devices.
