Bistatic radar
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003933
A radar system in which the transmitting and receiving antennas are separated by a considerable distance, comparable to the expected target distance. This configuration allows for the measurement of scattered energy from a target at an angle different from the incident angle. Bistatic radar is used in atmospheric science to study phenomena like precipitation and turbulence by analyzing the forward-scattered or side-scattered signals.
