Distributed target
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005070
A radar target that is composed of many individual scatterers spread over a volume, rather than a single point. Examples include precipitation (rain, snow, hail), clouds, and insects, which collectively reflect radar signals. The radar reflectivity from a distributed target is typically measured in units of dBZ (decibels relative to Z).
