IF signal
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006453
An intermediate frequency signal, which is the result of mixing an incoming radio frequency signal with a local oscillator signal within a receiver. This process converts the high-frequency radio signal to a lower, fixed frequency that is easier to process and amplify. The IF signal typically undergoes filtering and amplification before demodulation to extract the original information.
