Specular reflection

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009121

The reflection of light or other waves from a smooth surface, where the angle of incidence equals the angle of reflection. This type of reflection results in a clear, mirror-like image. In atmospheric optics, specular reflection can occur from calm water surfaces or ice crystals, contributing to phenomena like sun glint.
