Osos wind
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007752
A local, northwesterly sea breeze that funnels through the Los Osos Valley in San Luis Obispo County, California. This wind develops as inland areas heat up faster than the Pacific Ocean, creating a pressure gradient that draws cool, moist marine air inland. The Osos wind is a regular afternoon phenomenon, particularly during the spring and summer, bringing characteristic low clouds and fog to the valley.
