Upvalley wind
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009919
A localized wind that blows up a valley during the daytime, driven by differential heating between the valley floor and the surrounding mountain slopes. As the valley floor and slopes warm, air rises, creating a pressure gradient that draws air from the lower, cooler parts of the valley upwards. This wind typically reverses to a downvalley wind at night.
