Positive isothermal vorticity advection

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008070

The advection of higher values of vorticity into a region where the temperature is constant, indicating an increase in the rotation of air parcels. This atmospheric process is often associated with upward vertical motion in the troposphere. It is a diagnostic tool used in forecasting to identify areas favorable for cyclogenesis and precipitation development.
