Precipitation intensity

The rate at which precipitation falls, typically expressed as the depth of water accumulated over a given time period. It is a measure of how heavily rain, snow, or other forms of precipitation are falling at any moment. Common units include millimeters per hour or inches per hour, and it can vary significantly during a single precipitation event.
