Pulse integration

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008205

A signal processing technique in radar meteorology where multiple received radar pulses from the same target are averaged together to improve the signal-to-noise ratio. This process reduces random noise fluctuations, making it easier to detect weak meteorological echoes. The number of pulses integrated directly impacts the sensitivity and accuracy of the radar measurements.
