Noise
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007562
Any unwanted signal or disturbance that interferes with the accurate measurement or interpretation of meteorological data. This can include random fluctuations in sensor readings, electronic interference, or atmospheric turbulence affecting remote sensing signals. Noise reduces the signal-to-noise ratio, making it more challenging to extract meaningful information from observations.
