Pulse integrator
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008206
An electronic circuit or digital algorithm in a radar receiver that averages the power of a sequence of received echo pulses from a specific range. This averaging process improves the signal-to-noise ratio, providing a more stable and accurate estimate of the reflectivity of atmospheric targets like precipitation. The number of pulses integrated is a configurable parameter, with a typical range being from 8 to 64 pulses for meteorological radars.
