Matched filter
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010604
A signal processing technique designed to maximize the signal-to-noise ratio for a known signal embedded in random noise. It involves correlating the received signal with a replica of the expected signal. This method is applied in radar and lidar systems to detect weak atmospheric returns.
