Radial inflow
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008284
The movement of air or fluid towards the center of a rotating system, such as a thunderstorm or a tropical cyclone. This inward flow is driven by a pressure gradient force directed towards the low-pressure core of the system. In tropical cyclones, strong radial inflow in the lower atmosphere feeds moisture and energy into the storm, contributing to its intensification.
