Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008416

Describing observational data that has been collected directly from an instrument but has not yet undergone processing, quality control, or conversion into standard meteorological units. This data is in its original form, such as sensor voltages, digital counts from a radiometer, or uncorrected pressure readings. Raw data must be calibrated, corrected for instrument biases, and converted into physical quantities like temperature or wind speed before it can be used in analysis or forecasting models.
