Chill factor

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004272

A measure that quantifies the perceived cooling effect on the human body due to the combined influence of air temperature and wind speed. This index, often referred to as wind chill, indicates how cold it feels to exposed skin. It is calculated using empirical formulas that relate ambient temperature and wind velocity to an equivalent temperature in calm conditions.
