Rational method

A simplified hydrological model used to estimate peak runoff rates from small urban or agricultural watersheds. It relates the peak runoff to the rainfall intensity, drainage area, and a runoff coefficient representing the watershed's characteristics. The method is commonly applied for designing storm sewers and culverts.
