Ray
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008420
A conceptual line representing the path along which electromagnetic radiation, such as light or radio waves, propagates through a medium. In atmospheric optics, rays are used to model phenomena like refraction, reflection, and scattering of sunlight or moonlight. The direction of a ray is perpendicular to the wavefront of the propagating wave.
