Röntgen ray
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008604
A form of electromagnetic radiation with very short wavelengths, typically ranging from 0.01 to 10 nanometers, and high energy. These rays, also known as X-rays, are produced when high-energy electrons strike a metal target. While not directly used for atmospheric sensing, they are a component of the electromagnetic spectrum and are relevant in studies of cosmic radiation interacting with the upper atmosphere.
