Red flash

A rare optical phenomenon observed at sunrise or sunset, appearing as a brief, reddish flash of light above the sun's upper limb. It is caused by the differential refraction of sunlight through the Earth's atmosphere, similar to the more common green flash. This phenomenon requires exceptionally clear atmospheric conditions and a low sun angle.
