Sastruga

An irregular ridge or groove formed on a snow surface by wind erosion and deposition. These features are typically elongated parallel to the prevailing wind direction and can vary in size from a few centimeters to several meters. Sastrugi indicate the direction and strength of past winds over snow-covered terrain.
