The cathode-ray tube display unit of a weather radar system that visually presents information about detected precipitation. The scope shows the location and intensity of radar echoes, which correspond to rain, snow, or hail, relative to the radar's position. Common display formats include the Plan Position Indicator (PPI), showing a 360-degree horizontal scan, and the Range Height Indicator (RHI), showing a vertical cross-section.
