Sediment concentration

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008757

The amount of sediment carried by a fluid, expressed as the dry mass of particles per unit volume of the water-sediment mixture, commonly in milligrams per liter, or as a mass ratio in parts per million. It is found by filtering and drying collected suspended-sediment samples. It excludes material dissolved in the water, which is counted separately as dissolved load.
