Sediment discharge rating

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008758

A relationship, often expressed as a curve or equation, that describes the rate at which sediment is transported by a river or stream as a function of its water discharge. This rating is developed through field measurements of both water flow and sediment load. It is used to estimate sediment transport over time and to manage water resources.
