Rating curve
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008413
A graphical relationship between the stage (water level) of a river or stream and its corresponding discharge (volume of water flowing per unit time). This curve is developed by taking simultaneous measurements of stage and discharge over a range of flow conditions. It is used to estimate discharge from continuous stage measurements at a gauging station.
