Rate-of-climb indicator

An aircraft instrument that displays the vertical speed of the aircraft, indicating whether it is ascending, descending, or flying level. It measures the rate of change of static air pressure, which decreases with increasing altitude. The display is typically calibrated in feet per minute or meters per second.
