Ship report

A meteorological observation made by personnel on board a ship and transmitted to shore-based weather centers. These reports provide valuable data on sea surface temperature, wind speed and direction, atmospheric pressure, and wave conditions from oceanic areas. They are a primary source of real-time marine weather information.
