Smoke plumes

Columns or trails of smoke rising and dispersing into the atmosphere from a source of combustion. These plumes are composed of particulate matter, gases, and aerosols, which are transported by atmospheric winds. The height and dispersion of smoke plumes are influenced by atmospheric stability and wind shear.
