Superbolt

An exceptionally powerful lightning discharge that is significantly brighter and more energetic than an average lightning strike. These events release at least 100 times more energy than a typical lightning flash. Superbolts are relatively rare, accounting for less than one percent of all lightning, and are often observed over oceans.
