Ground-to-cloud discharge

A rare type of lightning discharge where the electrical breakdown initiates from the ground and propagates upward into a thundercloud. Unlike typical cloud-to-ground lightning, which moves downward from the cloud, this phenomenon is less common and often associated with tall structures or mountain peaks. It is also known as an upward lightning flash.
