Lightning current
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006949
The flow of electrical charge during a lightning discharge, characterized by extremely high peak currents and rapid rise times. These currents can range from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of amperes. The magnitude and duration of the current determine the destructive potential of a lightning strike.
