Teleconnection
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-002768
A recurring and persistent large-scale pattern of atmospheric circulation anomalies that are correlated over vast geographical distances. These patterns link weather and climate variations in widely separated regions, often influencing temperature and precipitation regimes. Examples include the El Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) and the North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO).
Linkage between changes in atmospheric circulation occurring in widely separated parts of the globe.
