Thermoneutral zone
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009615
The range of ambient temperatures within which an organism can maintain its core body temperature with minimal metabolic effort. In this zone, the body does not need to actively generate or dissipate heat beyond its basal metabolic rate. For humans, the thermoneutral zone is typically around 25-30 degrees Celsius when unclothed and at rest.
