Tornado outbreak

An event where multiple tornadoes, typically six or more, are generated by the same weather system over a relatively large region within a 24-hour period. These outbreaks can cause widespread damage and loss of life. The super outbreak of April 2011 is an example, producing over 300 tornadoes across the southeastern United States.
