Vertically integrated liquid
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010007
A radar-derived product that estimates the total mass of liquid water in a vertical column of the atmosphere above a given point. It is calculated by integrating the radar reflectivity factor through the depth of a storm. High values of vertically integrated liquid often indicate the presence of strong updrafts and potentially severe weather, such as hail.
