VFR between layers
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010012
A specific visual flight rule condition where an aircraft operates between two distinct cloud layers, maintaining visual reference to the ground or water below and clear of clouds above. This allows for flight under visual conditions even when there are clouds present, provided the vertical and horizontal separation from both layers meets regulatory minimums. It requires sufficient visibility and ceiling to navigate safely.
