VHF

A designation for the portion of the radio frequency spectrum from 30 to 300 megahertz (MHz), known as Very High Frequency. These radio waves are limited to line-of-sight propagation, making them suitable for short-range terrestrial communication, such as air traffic control and automatic weather station broadcasts. VHF is also used by weather radio services like NOAA Weather Radio in North America.
