Warm-front-type occlusion
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010092
A type of occluded front where the air behind the cold front is warmer than the air ahead of the warm front. As the cold front overtakes the warm front, the colder air mass behind the cold front is forced to ride up and over the cooler air mass ahead of the warm front. This results in the warm front remaining at the surface, while the cold front lifts off the ground.
