Wastewater

Water whose quality has been degraded by human activities, such as domestic, industrial, or commercial processes. It contains dissolved and suspended solids, chemicals, pathogens, and other pollutants that must be removed or reduced through treatment before the water can be safely discharged back into the environment or reused. The management and discharge of wastewater are integral components of the hydrologic cycle in populated areas.
