Water requirement

The total quantity of water needed for a plant's optimal growth and development over a specific period, primarily to replenish moisture lost through evapotranspiration. It represents the amount of water that must be supplied by precipitation and irrigation to meet the demands of the crop and the atmospheric conditions. This value is often expressed in depth units, such as millimeters per day or per growing season.
