Wave crest

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003040

  1. The highest point of a wave, representing the maximum upward displacement from the equilibrium water level or atmospheric pressure. It is the peak of the wave form, occurring between two adjacent troughs. The vertical distance from a wave crest to an adjacent wave trough defines the wave height.
