White dew
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010229
A deposit of white, frozen water droplets that forms on surfaces when the air temperature drops below freezing and the dew point is also below freezing. This occurs through the process of deposition, where water vapor directly transforms into ice crystals without first becoming liquid water. White dew is distinct from frost, which forms from water vapor directly freezing onto surfaces.
