Wind cone

A conical textile sleeve, open at both ends, mounted on a mast to indicate the direction and approximate speed of the wind. Also known as a windsock, it inflates and points in the direction the wind is blowing from. Wind cones are commonly found at airports and heliports to provide pilots with immediate wind information for safe takeoffs and landings.
