Bayesian method
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000298
A statistical approach to data analysis that uses Bayes' theorem to update the probability of a hypothesis as new evidence is acquired. It involves defining prior probabilities for parameters and then updating them with observed data to obtain posterior probabilities. These methods are widely applied in reservoir characterization for uncertainty quantification and risk assessment in geological modeling.
