Cased hole

A wellbore that has been lined with steel pipe (casing) and cemented in place to prevent collapse, isolate formations, and control fluid flow. This section of the well is stable and provides a conduit for production or injection. Operations in a cased hole often involve perforating the casing to access the reservoir.
