Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000555
Steel pipe installed in a wellbore to prevent the hole from caving in, isolate different fluid-bearing formations, and provide a conduit for hydrocarbon production. It is cemented in place after drilling each section of the well. Casing strings are run in progressively smaller diameters, from surface casing to production casing, to maintain wellbore integrity.
